My time has come to leave again
Don’t cry my baby girl
So much has been achieved
In such little time
Reparation and peace
Is what you now have
Gifts from your home
To take with you
Around the world
Follow your dreams
Don’t ever be afraid
I am always with you
Anguillas breeze
Whispered to me
All is well
And will be well
Trust in God
That he has a plan
For you to come back
And be one
One love

GUYS PLACE

In Guys place, is where I want to be
A world so secret that nobody can see
Its wonders and wildness, engulfed by trees
Of St Martin

Leaves of tropical beauty, so serene and pretty
Greens of all colours, in different shapes and sizes
Home to sweet birds, singing crickets
A tropical jungle, varied extremes
Such wonder, A sacred castle
In St martin

Singing night birds, echo distant years
Through to eternity. Sound therapy.
Piercing vibrations of natural beauty
Heals my mind
I inhale the cocktail
Of leaves with scents, so strong
And blended into one
I breathe life

A passion fruit plops to the floor
In front of me
I open its sweet fruit
With seeds that crunch in my teeth
I am in heaven
Sounds of waves
Below crashing onto the rocks
Is background music in this paradise
On the hills Of St martin

A lizard sits still and looks at me
Tells me he has seen me
As a fellow living being
Nature at its best
To forget the rest
Amazing

African-American Reparation

African-American Reparation

Reconnecting, retrieving, repairing

Memory that has been broken

In order to heal

Tears unshed as a result

Of that experience

That no other race

Has had to endure

To restore

A sense of pride

Let’s propose a committee

Of people who can talk

About scar tissue

From segregation

A framing programme to lift people

Academically, to open opportunity

Early intervention for children

In poverty, poor school facilities

Social inheritance

Enslaved for 240 years

Their memory taken

The unfairness has to be

Reconciled, be talked about

A mistold, epic story

Where is the movie?

You forget your story-

You have no self

We need programmes

Lets start with love

Teach schools the history

Political intervention

For reparation

A second chance

            There will always be
               A second chance
             No matter how bad
                 You mess up
            Another chance will
               Come your way
             To make amends
            And have your say
            Don't bow your head
                   In shame
             Tmorrow will be
               Another game
            And you will win
           Be kind to the child
                    Within.

Surviving without you

                                                    Surviving without you
                                                      When things are hard
                                                           I think of you
                                                        Holding me close to
                                                              Your heart
                                                        It gives me strength
                                                         For what I must do
                                                        Survive without you
                                                      When things are tough
                                                  And everything is falling apart
                                                            I think of you
                                                              And I start
                                                            To be strong
                                                          Because I know
                                                                  I can.

Racism

Racism
I have seen the ignorance
Of some whites
I have witnessed
Their blindness
And their folly
Some are afraid
Of unfamiliarity
Some are just nasty
They are probably
Jealous too
Of not being free
To do, what they
Want to do
I have felt the love
Of some blacks
Who love the skin
That their in
Such beautiful skin
I do envy
Souls so strong
Who do no wrong
Don't whiten yourselves
With revenge
Rise above
This humanity
And be free
Let the prejudice
Be recognised
As a massive injustice
And move on
In Peace
And if this racism
Continues
Feel sorry for them
But never give them
Any attention
They don't deserve it!
May karma, God and spirit
Take care of their wrongs
Amen

Genius of the highest
Messages of happiness
Warmth and kindness
Thankyou pure soul
For what you did
For this world
In which we live
Your memory lives on
In all our hearts
There's no need to worry
Is what you say
Let's all remember
And pray
Because today is a

Happy day

Local author at Anguilla lit fest

http://theanguillian.com/2013/05/local-author-catrina-jones-at-lit-fest/

In Anguillas breeze

So I can write
And I did not know
What Anguilla does for me
Is so much more
Than I dreamed of
And so it will be
For me
To return to my home
And be happy
For when I leave
My pen will stop
And there will be no more
Special moments
Like these
In Anguillas breeze
I need to be
